Slinger unveils winter activity guide and schedules Adaptive Basketball Clinic for Feb. 7

Director Tony Dobson and Supervisor Van Maanen presented the Village of Slinger’s online Winter Activity Guide to the Park, Recreation & Forestry Board on Jan. 5, saying registrations for 2026 are arriving quickly and the guide includes new programming for the season.
Supervisor Van Maanen provided a written recreation report noting the kickoff of volleyball and basketball leagues, the Winter Pom & Dance session, and the launch of a Senior Game Club to be run by regular senior activity participants. "This week we kick off our Volleyball and Basketball leagues, along with our Winter Pom & Dance session," the written report read. Van Maanen also reported Little League registration opened the same day and announced a new partnership with Tippy Toes of Greater Milwaukee to lead dance classes for young children.
Director Dobson told the board the 2026 Adaptive Basketball Clinic will take place Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Slinger High School and said he was "extremely excited for this year’s event," adding there would be a "special surprise" for athletes. Dobson said he expects to have the event schedule completed by the end of the week.
Board members discussed elements of the new programming and encouraged staff to continue outreach to seniors and families. The board did not take formal action on program spending at the meeting.
