APC quarterly report highlights bridge work, Morehouse paving and INDOT's July letting list

Area Plan Commission staff presented the MPO's quarterly project progress and an INDOT letting-list summary during the June 11 meeting.
Tim Stroshine reviewed county projects: the North 9th Street bridge will have a closure and the closure information will be shared on social media; Morehouse Phase 1 is closed and Phase 2 paving is expected to finish in June; environmental reporting for Bridge 80/83 was bundled and is expected to be complete by September; North River Road and other projects are progressing. In Lafayette, South 9th Street was noted as split into phases with updated funding and emergency vehicle preemption costs were adjusted. In West Lafayette, final acceptance for the Sagamore Parkway Trail was signed May 10 and the West Lafayette portion of Emergency Vehicle Preemption is awaiting a signature from the Attorney General's office; Soldiers Home Road cost estimates were updated and funds were traded with Bloomington MPO for construction.
Doug Poad reported the MPO had officially obligated all 2026 federal funds, much of which was processed in April and May, and that attention will now turn to 2027 funds. INDOT provided updated numbers that require a TIP modification to process a $1.00 increase over what was previously reported. Poad and Stroshine also summarized INDOT's 18-month letting list, noting July projects for traffic signal modernization, raised pavement markings on North River Road, and later phases for emergency vehicle preemption and South 9th Street.
