MPO approves $324,113 fund trade with Columbus MPO to protect right-of-way purchases

The Tippecanoe County MPO Policy Board on June 11 approved Resolution T-26-07 to trade $324,113 in FY2027 funding with the Columbus Metropolitan Planning Organization, APC staff reported. Doug Poad said two county projects near 600 North and 50 West had portions intended for rural funding; because the last two rural applications were not approved, staff shifted portions of the rural project into the urban project to protect right-of-way purchases and avoid jeopardizing planned acquisitions.
To maintain schedule and preserve right-of-way purchases, APC staff said the Columbus MPO will receive FY2027 funds now and will repay them in 2029. APC recommended the trade to avoid delays to right-of-way acquisition phases that could arise from timing constraints.
The board adopted Resolution T-26-07 by unanimous roll call vote. The minutes record adoption by roll call but do not identify a mover or seconder.
