Andrea Graham, CEO of Appling Hospital, updated the Appling County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 1 about staffing initiatives, recent community fundraising and a new rural grant award.
Graham said the hospital updated its employee benefits package and launched an employee engagement committee called Team Care. She described the hospital’s "Mom Prom" fundraiser as a success, noting it raised $15,000 in queen nominations.
Graham told commissioners that Appling Hospital is the recipient of a Rural State Grant in the amount of $875,000, one of eight awardees selected from 25 applications across the state. The grant will be used to renovate patient rooms and to provide relief for long-term debt; the hospital has one year to use the funds.
She also shared that the Pavilion received one of seven Silver quality awards.
