The Chair read a letter from the library reporting three vacancies created by recent resignations and stating that interviews had been held with the three candidates. The library board recommended appointing Copas, described in the letter as a dentist who lives in Rico; Mary Davis, described as a retired schoolteacher; and Doug Funk, described as a retired journalist.
Following the presentation, the Chair moved to appoint the three candidates and a Committee member seconded the motion. The appointments were approved by voice vote.
The action fills all three vacancies on the Dolores County Public Library board; the letter and recommendation were recorded in the meeting materials. Officials signaled that a budget workshop would follow the special meeting.
The special meeting also approved routine expenditures and was then adjourned.
