Appling County offers administrator job to Reid Lovett after interviews

After interviewing four finalists at a Nov. 25 called meeting, the Appling County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to offer the County Administrator position to Reid Lovett and moved its December meeting to Dec. 5.
The Appling County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 25 interviewed four finalists for the County Administrator vacancy and voted to offer the position to Reid Lovett.
Attorney Tracy Brown oversaw the interview order drawing; the candidates interviewed were James Woods; Alvah "Bubba" Milton II; Adieasia "Lisa" Cameron; and Reid Lovett. The board recessed for a luncheon and later entered executive session for personnel. Commissioners Edwards, Leggett, Harris and Wilkerson named Reid Lovett as their top choice while Commissioner Randy Sellers named Lisa Cameron. After the executive session Commissioner Doug Harris moved to offer the County Administrator position to Reid Lovett, Commissioner Charlie Leggett seconded, and the board approved the offer unanimously.
The board also voted to move the Dec. 3 regular meeting to Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to accommodate scheduling.
Chairman Leslie Burch thanked the candidates at the conclusion of the meeting. The minutes record the board’s motion to offer the job; any employment terms or start date were not specified in the minutes.
