Oscoda County board approves multiple hires, contract renewals and funding advertisements

Financial and contract actions: the board approved a $500 pollution liability coverage renewal for the Dennis Kauffman Memorial Airport with Envirosure Agency, Inc., effective July 11, 2024 through July 11, 2025, and approved renewal of the Michigan Department of Corrections agreement for April 1, 2024–April 30, 2025. Treasurer William Kendall’s request to advertise for Title III funds totaling $38,070.48 (eligible projects include Firewise community programs, emergency services reimbursement on federal land, and community wildfire protection plans) was approved.
Public-comment items recorded included EMS Director Robert Stankiewicz reporting ambulance monitor installations and training, and Amber Woehlert reporting the Gypsy Moth project serviced 6,500 acres this year.
