Dodge County accepts LMIG award, awards resurfacing and approves bids for line-of-credit and striping

Dodge County moved forward on several transportation and finance items in 2018: awarding resurfacing contracts, accepting a large LMIG grant, approving local matches for striping and selecting a low-cost operating line of credit offer.
The county opened bids and accepted a low bidder for 2018 surface-resurfacing and later accepted an $830,000 LMIG award for 2019. Commissioners approved a prioritized list of roads to be resurfaced under LMIG and accepted the low bid from Everett Dykes Grassing Co., Inc. for later projects. For restriping projects the board approved participating in a GDOT striping grant, agreeing to the required county match.
On financing, the board solicited and opened bids for a $2,000,000 operating line of credit and accepted Bank of Eastman’s low interest rate (3.52%). The board also reviewed and accepted sealed bids for several surplus vehicles across the year.
Commissioners directed county staff to move forward with bid documents, matching arrangements and contract finalization, and to report any scope or cost changes back to the board before work commences.
