Public works director resigns; interim appointed and motor grader put into service

County Manager Al Meadows reported Feb. 6 that Brooks Johnson tendered his resignation as Public Works Director on Jan. 19, 2024. The board accepted the staff report and appointed Carroll Weaver to act as interim Public Works Director. The job vacancy has been posted internally through Feb. 16, 2024.
Meadows also told the commission that a second 2023 motor grader arrived and is receiving radio and safety equipment; the machine is expected to be on the road within a week. Chairman Leslie Burch thanked attendees and the board adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
