Appling County commissioners voted unanimously to award the county’s TIA road-paving contract to Scruggs Company after a public bid opening.
County Manager Reid Lovett told the board four bids had been received for the project; the lowest bid, from Scruggs Company, totaled $3,438,614.11. The scope includes paving Satilla Church Road in its entirety and repaving a portion of Ten Mile Road from the last pavement joint to just past the county landfill.
Commissioner Jakharis Jones moved to accept the low bid; Commissioner Chad Kent seconded and the board approved the recommendation unanimously.
The minutes do not list a contract award date beyond the motion nor identify additional contingencies; procurement and contract administration will follow standard county procedures.
