The Town of Clay Planning Board on June 10 recommended the Town Board approve a change of zone from RA‑100 to R7.5 for the Reserve at Clay development proposed by Cornerstone Homes CNY LLC.
Represented by Tim Coyer, the applicant had no new updates from the prior meeting. Chairwoman Michelle Borton said the Planning Board’s role was to provide a recommendation on the zone change and noted the board had not received input from the town of Cicero. Neighbor David Yates asked whether Cicero would be consulted; Borton said that the recommendation will note Cicero has not replied and that infrastructure and access issues (including Lawton Road) will be addressed later when the project reaches preliminary plat.
The board voted 5‑1 to recommend approval of the RA‑100 to R7.5 change, with Paul Graves casting the lone no vote and suggesting RA100 as an alternate. Mr. Mitchell moved the zone‑change recommendation and Mr. Palumbo seconded; motion carried 5‑1. Chairwoman Borton advised the Town Board to coordinate with Cicero on possible Lawton Road improvements as the project advances.
