Sanitation & Recycling Committee recommends approval of Kennedy Road Recycling Center agreement revisions

The Sanitation & Recycling Committee of the Town of Spring Green voted unanimously March 5 to recommend approval of revisions to Attachment A of the Kennedy Road Recycling Center/Burn Area Agreement, which included adjusted hourly rates and a line item covering Town patrolmen and equipment.

Robin Reid called the joint meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. Committee members present were Robin Reid, Damian Barta, Carla Carmody, Dave Radel and Nate Robson; Jen Snow and Deb Miller were absent. Wendy Crary appointed the minute taker.

Committee members first approved the minutes of the Feb. 6, 2024 joint meeting after a motion by Dave Radel and second from Damian Barta. They then approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Barta, seconded by Carla Carmody. Both routine motions passed "with all in attendance in favor," according to the meeting record.

During discussion of the Kennedy Road Recycling Center/Burn Area Agreement — labeled Attachment A in the packet — committee members were told that adjusted hourly rates and other changes were provided to everyone in attendance. The record notes that Town patrolmen and equipment are included in the annual agreement's rate schedule "should the need arise," even though the patrolmen and equipment are not utilized at the facility.

Nate Robson moved and Carla Carmody seconded a motion to recommend approval of the revised Attachment A; the motion passed with all in attendance in favor. The minutes state that the revisions will be reviewed at upcoming Village Board and Town Board meetings for final approval by each municipality; no dates were specified in the record.
