Spring Green commission reviews conditional use request for vehicle sales at Sunrise Drive property

"I'll mostly be fixing and tinkering on my own vehicles," Houck said, adding that vehicles would be parked outside only "possibly when washing them." He also said there would be "minimal lighting for safety" with a preference for dark-sky fixtures, minimal paved frontage for parking and no signage.
Shawn Kuhse raised concerns that granting a conditional use permit could create a future problem: if the property were sold, it could become an active used-car sales lot. That possibility was the primary point of contention during discussion; Houck reiterated his personal intent for private use but did not commit to restrictions or conditions on future property transfers during the meeting.
Commissioners asked practical questions about exterior lighting, signage and the extent of outdoor parking; Michelle Brokish specifically asked about building and outside lighting, and Greg Prem asked about signage. There were no additional public comments on the item during the session, and no formal vote on the conditional use permit was recorded in the meeting minutes.
The commission approved the meeting agenda at the start of the session (motion by Commissioner David Saperstein; second by Commissioner Kevin Zimmer) and adjourned at 7:13 p.m. after a motion by Robin Reid, seconded by Michael Broh. The minutes do not show a date for further consideration of Houck's permit request or any conditions placed on the proposal.
