Keep Beaufort County Beautiful board approves minutes and moves to explore at-large membership

The board opened its June 11 meeting by approving the agenda and the minutes of its April 9 meeting. Pam Floyd moved to approve the agenda; the motion passed by voice/hand raise. Brenda McPhee moved to approve the April 9 minutes and was seconded; members voted to approve the minutes as presented.
Later in the meeting, Brenda McPhee moved that the board explore creating one or more at-large positions to broaden volunteer recruitment; the motion was seconded and approved. County Council liaison Joe Passman said he would raise the idea with administration and report back on the process or any formal steps required to change allocation of seats.
The board directed staff and the liaison to pursue next steps and to prepare a recommendation for a future meeting. The board adjourned and set its next regular meeting for August, when members expect to receive procurement and budget information needed to vote on FY27 spending.
