Kennard police report notes body cameras and staffing changes; fire department logs calls

At the Kennard Town Council meeting, Officer Bill delivered the monthly police report, saying the department recorded 15 traffic stops last month, including 10 written warnings, and that “our new body cameras are in” with training scheduled for May 17. The representative also recounted routine truck maintenance and training, and described a proposal to upgrade LED scene lighting for fire trucks and the recent installation of a new generator on engine 721.
Council members did not take formal policy action on public safety items beyond routine acknowledgement and inclusion of maintenance and equipment costs in upcoming budget considerations. The council moved on to other agenda items after the reports.
