Screening and assessment work group recommends pausing regular meetings after completing key deliverables

The committee heard an update from the screening and assessment work group, which reported 16 recommendations and said recommendations 7 and 16 are complete. The presenter said subcommittees updated technology and training materials and that an IS policy related to the recommendations was approved by the state board and will take effect on July 1 to align with updated juvenile reporting standards.

The Chair read two items proposed for delegation to the data work group, asking that it "continue to engage in ongoing study of the IaaS tools" to maintain reliability and to "conduct research into the use of complementary assessments" to inform case planning and training. Committee members agreed those tasks appeared to fall within the data group's scope.

Members discussed whether the screening and assessment work group should continue to meet. One presenter asked the committee to disband the group, offering that members would remain available to collaborate as needed. The Chair asked the presenter to poll group members about reallocation to other work groups and to report back by the next meeting or by email; no formal motion or vote was taken at the meeting.

The committee also noted training completed at the April annual conference so probation officers could see changes and that IOCS and the technology team are finalizing instructional text to support implementation. The Chair said the committee would pause official action until the next meeting and encouraged the presenter to return with recommendations for membership reassignment.
