Support Services Committee approves vehicle purchases, withdraws $139,733 from reserve and amends budgets

The Warren County Support Services Committee voted to withdraw $139,733 from the county vehicle reserve to fund pending vehicle purchases, the County Administrator (speaker 1) said. The administrator said the county currently has approximately $183,000 in the vehicle reserve and expects grant funds from Human Services, Social Services, and Health Services to backfill some costs. He described the intended purchases as one vehicle for Social Services and four for Health Services, and clarified the county is bidding three additional vehicles for Building Codes that would only be purchased if Glens Falls transfers billing code responsibilities to the county.

Committee members questioned vehicle types; the administrator described them as the county's standard service vans used by nurses and social services staff ("not SUVs"), and confirmed the vehicles are gasoline-powered. The motion to appropriate $139,733 from the vehicle reserve was moved to the floor and approved by voice vote.

Separately, the committee approved a $50,684 budget amendment to amend Health Services and Social Services departmental budgets to recognize offsetting revenue tied to these purchases. The committee also approved an amendment to recognize expense and offsetting revenue under GASB 96 for subscription-based IT services; the record shows the item was moved and approved but individual roll-call votes were not recorded in the transcript.
