Kennard approves $3,750 contract to update pavement plan for grant eligibility

The Kennard Town Board authorized a $3,750 consulting agreement with Keizer Consulting on July 9 to update the town’s pavement asset management plan and add Kentard Lake Estates to the state road inventory, steps necessary to preserve eligibility for the state’s Community Crossings grant program.
A board member explained the cost is about half what the town paid previously for the same work; the contract will prepare and submit the updated pavement assessment and DOT inventory so the town can apply for next year’s program. “I will make a motion to go ahead and pay the Keizer consulting group, $3,750 to handle our pavement asset management plan and our INDOT road inventory,” the chair said; another board member seconded and the motion carried by voice vote 3-0.
Next steps: the consultant will complete the pavement assessment and submit required documents to the state to restore eligibility for grant funding; staff will sign the agreement and process payment.
