The Littleton Elementary District governing board approved the fiscal year 2023'24 annual financial report after a staff presentation explaining reimbursement grants, federal project spending, and key program expenditures.
Mister French closed the report by explaining that reimbursement grants require the district to spend the approved allocation first and then file for reimbursement, which can cause negative beginning balances while the district awaits reimbursement. He noted federal COVID-related project expenditures included retention stipends, technology purchases, signature school expenditures, and some salary and benefits. He also highlighted Title I spending at $1,300,000 and IDEA spending at $1,490,000.
A board member moved to approve the annual financial report as presented; the motion was seconded and, after President Reyes called for the vote, the board recorded no opposition and the motion passed.
The vote concluded the item; staff proceeded to the next informational presentation on bond and override expenditures.
