Speaking for Janice Hernandez, the foundation representative (speaker S2) said staff and committees have pursued investors and property options but that a dentist‑owned parcel tied to a possible hotel donation has unresolved issues. "We need the city support," the representative said, urging council members or staff to attend foundation meetings and to meet with the foundation’s team to clarify needs and opportunities.
Jeff (speaker S4), a council member who also serves on the Planning Commission, noted the foundation's work and that the commission had amended a dwelling standard to allow a minimum lower‑floor size intended to expand housing options. Council members asked for more frequent updates; the mayor suggested regular reports and asked that foundation staff bring specifics to the city office so the council can better coordinate.
The representative also noted committee activity around industrial‑park marketing and housing and asked for clearer two‑way communication between the city and the foundation. The council did not take formal action beyond requests for improved communication and follow‑up.
