IT staff asked the board to consolidate endpoint and server protection under Arctic Wolf, noting the upgrade would provide 24‑7 monitoring and cost an additional $7,162; the board approved that contract request. The board also approved a one‑year lease renewal for a county property on the same terms as the current agreement.
Staff reported the county received a $2,000,000 grant to extend rail infrastructure in the North Florida Mega Industrial Park and presented an agreement with the Pinsley Group (North Florida Industrial Railroad) to design and construct the extension, with reimbursement coming from the grant. Staff cautioned that some rail crossings may have to be closed or modified under state DOT/rail division rules and asked commissioners to be prepared for sensitive decisions on specific crossings in their districts.
The board approved a three‑month extension of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) housing project to complete one remaining house under the older grant and acknowledged another home was proceeding under available ARPA funds. Staff also set a public hearing for July 16 to adopt local land‑development ordinance language required by recent changes in state law.
Next steps: staff will process the kennel budget change, finalize Arctic Wolf contracting, proceed with the rail grant coordination and complete the administrative steps to advertise the July 16 public hearing and implement the CDBG extension.
