He said the analysis produced a ranked list of 31 candidate characteristics and recommended the board narrow those to a top 10–12 to include in the recruitment brochure.
Chestnut described the most common leadership qualities raised in sessions and surveys: strong communication, listening, community visibility and classroom teaching experience among the top items. He said the consultant team proposed a draft top‑10 list and noted the board could combine closely related items to reach a concise brochure length.
After discussion, board member Mrs. Barnett moved to approve the top leadership qualities as recommended, with the combination of items 7 and 13 as long as their content remained; Marcus Santacero seconded and the motion carried.
The board asked staff and consultants to finalize the brochure after the attorney provides salary range guidance expected later in the week.
