Maple Creek Robocats win international invitational; board recognizes student achievements

Coach Carol Marino introduced the Maple Creek Middle School Robocats robotics team. Marino said the team learned in mid-April that it had been invited to an international invitational in California, raised roughly $17,000 to travel, reprogrammed their robot in six weeks and won first place in an on-the-spot competition that required building new attachments and working with other teams.
Superintendent Barker presented certificates and a letter from U.S. Senator Jim Banks to the students and coaches; the board and audience applauded the group.
