Sandusky commission approves consent items, sewer contract amendment and transit vehicle purchase

The commission also approved an ordinance authorizing the city manager to purchase a 2026 Ford E cutaway transit vehicle for the Sandusky Transit System through the Ohio Department of Transportation cooperative purchasing program. A commissioner asked how many vehicles this represented; a staff member replied, "This is our 11th vehicle paid for with secured funding in the last 2 years." The staff member explained the city applied to ODOT to change the scope of grant funds to apply them to this purchase and asked the commission to allow transit funds to cover the remaining difference. Commissioners approved the ordinance by roll call.
