A representative of Seymour Main Street told the commission the downtown grant program awarded $236,000 across 12 projects after reviewing 18 applications with a combined project cost of more than $3,230,000.
The Seymour Main Street speaker said, "We awarded $236,000 to 12 different projects downtown," and explained award categories included build-out, facade work, awnings and rental assistance. They added that the program has disbursed $151,000 so far and that those awarded have been notified; no additional applications will be accepted this year.
Commission members asked clarifying questions about how much had been paid and whether further applications would be accepted; the representative confirmed the full allocation (236,665 was referenced) had been earmarked and that payments to recipients were underway. The chair thanked the representative and praised downtown improvements.
No formal action was taken by the commission on the Seymour Main Street report.
