"We would love to use the diamonds, but we can't continue to come back and pushing it later and later... we're running out of time," the resident said, urging the council to provide an answer at the next meeting or allow the league time to secure an alternative field.
Council members said staff would call the roughly 24 people who left callbacks and that the item would be added to the next agenda for further discussion. The chair acknowledged the council has received multiple interested parties about the property and said any serious offers should be submitted through an attorney or realtor so the town's attorney can review them.
Council and the resident discussed practical timelines: the resident estimated opening registration in December and needing a readiness decision by July 1 for the following season if the town moves forward with a sale. The council agreed to follow up and to have staff contact interested parties before the next meeting.
No formal vote or decision on the property sale was recorded at the meeting; council directed staff to continue outreach and to report back.
