On March 16 the Henry County Commission approved Resolution 5-3-26 to lease about 16 acres of county-owned land adjacent to the Henry County Airport to tenant Clint Diggs for the period April 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2031.
Under the contract, the tenant receives full management responsibility and all crop income; rent is specified as $750 per acre for the entire lease term, payable in five equal installments (including an initial payment due on execution). The contract requires modern farming practices, restricts uses to row crops, and includes provisions about owner access for maintenance, holdover prohibition, and tenant security responsibilities.
Commissioner David Hayes moved to approve the farm rental agreement; Commissioner Patrick Burns seconded and the motion carried. The county mayor is authorized to sign the contract on behalf of Henry County.
