The Henry County Commission on March 16 approved Resolution 1-3-26, which amends the county’s General Fund budget for fiscal 2025–26 to reflect new revenue and targeted transfers.
The resolution incorporates $92,439.62 identified as TVA impact revenue into the unappropriated fund balance and reallocates existing appropriations across departments. Specific changes include increased sheriff’s office funding for travel, in-service training and law-enforcement equipment tied to School Resource Officer (SRO) grant usage and vehicle upfits; increased medical and dental services funding offset by reductions in custodial and food supply lines; a transfer to support an emergency management radio project; and an entry noting an airport ALP update grant of $283,575 to be reflected in airport accounts.
Commissioner Monte Starks moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Kenneth Humphreys seconded and the motion carried. The resolution also documents a 20% reduction in an identified state THSO grant and associated budget adjustments.
The resolution directs that a copy be spread upon the commission records; staff will execute the transfers and reflect them in accounting records as required.
