Committee calls meeting recordings 'painful' and asks management to solicit bids for audio fix

Gary (speaker S6), the county IT lead, explained that the existing setup routes table microphones through room speakers into a small, older recording computer, and he suggested bypassing the current chain — routing table microphones directly into the recording computer — as the most pragmatic fix.
Committee members discussed simple interim fixes (keeping microphones turned on during meetings) and broader solutions (soliciting vendor bids for a new audio system). The chair recommended that the management committee obtain bids immediately and not wait another month to begin evaluating vendor proposals.
No formal contract was approved at the July 6 meeting; staff were directed to collect bids and return recommendations to the management committee for review.
