The Holland Town Board approved a set of administrative and capital items at its Aug. 11 meeting, including land divisions recommended by the Plan Commission, a fireworks permit, a contract renewal, and fire department equipment purchases.
Land divisions and rezonings The board accepted the Plan Commission's recommendation and approved a minor land division and rezonings for parcel 59006067368 (request by Mary Prinsen) to create two parcels of 3.03 and 24.22 acres; the approval was contingent on Village of Cedar Grove and Sheboygan County approvals. The motion was made by Supervisor Kelly Caswell and seconded by Supervisor Douglas Hamilton, and carried by unanimous roll call (Hamilton: Yes; Huenink: Yes; Caswell: Yes).
The board also approved a major land division request by Mark DeMaster for parcel 59006076382 on Hawe Road to create three 5.227‑acre parcels, subject to receipt of required recordable certified survey map materials and municipal approvals; that motion was made by Hamilton and seconded by Caswell and passed unanimously.
An amended certified survey map for Jeremy Jensema at N2211 Frontage Road (adjusting a 2.66‑acre resultant parcel) was approved on motion by Caswell and seconded by Hamilton; the motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
Permits, contracts and purchases The board approved a Class C fireworks permit for Heather and Travis DeRuyter to hold a display on Aug. 30, 2025 (with alternate weather dates) on a motion by Hamilton, seconded by Caswell (unanimous voice vote). Clerk‑Treasurer Janelle Kaiser will notify the first‑responding fire department and Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department of the permit issuance.
The board authorized Clerk‑Treasurer Janelle Kaiser to renew the existing short‑term rental license management agreement with Granicus; the motion by Caswell, seconded by Hamilton, carried by unanimous voice vote.
Public safety equipment On recommendation of the Oostburg Fire Department, the board approved a new fire truck purchase from Spencer Fire Equipment with Holland's expense not to exceed $325,500 and a pickup truck purchase with Holland's expense not to exceed $18,000. The motion (moved by Caswell, seconded by Hamilton) carried by unanimous roll call vote.
Other procedural items The board approved the July 2025 financial/treasurer’s report and the August voucher listing and set Open Book (Sept. 16, 2025) and Board of Review dates (Oct. 8, 2025).
All recorded votes noted in the meeting packet were unanimous in favor among the three members present at the Aug. 11 meeting.
