Town approves several road engineering and capital items; mixed results on sewer bond questions

Article 5, a bond article to extend sewer infrastructure on Snow Mountain Road and Greeley Hill Road, was amended upward to reflect bid results and required a secret ballot and three‑fifths majority; it failed narrowly (Yes 68, No 64). Because Article 6 (Jasinski Road sewer) was contingent on passage of Article 5, its progress depends on future revision or reconsideration. Select board members noted that some residents who live on the roads questioned whether hookup would be mandatory and how impact fees or sewer districts would be applied; staff said connection policy and fee structures still require deliberation.
Other bond articles for Valley Road (Article 7), Lost Pass/Cascade Ridge/Beambender (Article 8) and a targeted I I I Road repair (Article 9) were presented; Article 7 passed after ballots were counted (Yes 93, No 27). The moderator and staff said several bond questions required secret ballots and that the results would be announced as counts completed.
What to expect: with Article 5 failing, the select board said it will review funding and scope options for sewer extension projects and consider whether to re‑pack or re‑present a modified plan at a future meeting. Road projects that passed will move to engineering and permitting phases, and staff said public outreach will continue on coordination with potential sewer work and FEMA discussions where applicable.
