Charles P. Fox appeared during the public participation portion of the Florence 01 Board of Trustees meeting to request that the district provide the specific written procedures required by board policy FF on facility naming.
Fox said the policy states the superintendent will establish specific procedures for recommending facility names to the board and that those procedures should be provided in writing. He said he and his group did not have those procedures when they originally requested naming Williams Middle School for the late John Henry Carey and therefore requested the procedures be provided now so they can follow them.
Chair Mr. Stewart acknowledged Fox's request and thanked him for his comments. The board took no immediate action on the comment during the meeting; no follow‑up assignment was recorded in the transcript.
