Mayor Robert J. Alt said the train station project is about 30%–40% designed and estimated construction could take three to seven years. The property acquisition is intended to secure key land for that longer-term transportation project.
The authorization provides the town the go-ahead to proceed with settlement and payment to Arden Title Company; no construction schedule or project funding beyond the referenced grant was recorded at the May 6 meeting.
