Elkton Police pursue $12,800 JAG grant to buy eight replacement ballistic vests

The Elkton Police Department has applied for a federal Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) for $12,800 and publicly disclosed the intended use of the funds, Lt. Finch told the Mayor and Commissioners on April 15.
Lt. Finch said the award, if granted, would be split between the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office and the Elkton Police Department and that the departments intend to use the funding to purchase eight replacement ballistic vests.
The application requires that the departments state the intended use of the funds publicly as part of the process. The Board did not vote on the grant application at the meeting.
