Committee members raised the condition and comfort of meeting room chairs and discussed options for replacement at the July 6 session.
The chair said the county had previously discussed using ARPA money for new chairs and recommended trying sample chairs before placing a bulk order: "I am absolutely in favor of looking into getting new chairs," the chair said.
A committee member described a suggested stackable sled‑leg style that could hold 350 pounds: "They could hold 350 pounds," the member said, and noted five 8‑packs were quoted at a total of $1,700. Members agreed to gather existing chairs from county storage, order a small number of sample chairs to test for comfort and carpet compatibility, and report back with cost and procurement recommendations.
The chair and staff noted funds remain in the capital improvement fund and asked Finance to confirm the available balance before any purchase is made. The committee directed staff to obtain samples and pricing and to return with a recommendation at the next meeting.
