Mount Kisco ARB approves several new business signs; one approval contingent on variance or Building Department verification

The Mount Kisco Architectural Review Board approved three separate sign applications during its March 18, 2026 meeting, while placing one approval on a contingency for verification with the Building Department or a variance.
Chris Waugh of NY Landscape Lighting asked the board to approve two signs he had already installed at 342 Lexington Avenue before realizing ARB approval was required (installation occurred in July 2025). He proposed a large flat, unlit metal wall sign measuring approximately 6 feet by 3 feet with yellow, green and white lettering and a smaller sign above the door 32 inches by 16 inches with white lettering. The board questioned the need for two signs for a single entrance and approved the application contingent on verification of the second sign location with the Building Department or obtaining a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals (motion by James Vallejos; second by Andy Gonzalez). The minutes record the vote as approved.
High Point Engineering presented an application on behalf of the BP gas station at 540 East Main Street to replace the face of the monument identification sign with an LED sign to display prices; colors were to remain the same and three canopy signs were replaced like for like and did not require ARB approval. The ARB approved the monument sign face replacement (motion by Andy Gonzalez; second by James Vallejos).
Applicants for NY Pizza Girls — Laura Arias, Alejandra Rivera and Natalia Cardona — presented front and rear signage for their new pizzeria at 38 East Main Street. The applicants proposed an illuminated two‑line front sign and an allowable decal; for the rear, they planned to place a sign on their building because the adjacent building is owned by a different landlord. The board approved option 1 for the front and option 2 for the rear (motion by Andy Gonzalez; second by James Vallejos).
