Council members present included Aldermen Sam Kelley, Fred Stottlemyre, Tim Ceplina, Don Romines and Alderwomen Sheila Walker and Angie Gettys; City Attorney Sean Smith, City Administrator Lloyd Wells and City Clerk Barbara Rodgers were also listed as present.
Alderman Tim Ceplina moved, and Alderman Sam Kelley seconded, to enter closed session at 3:02 p.m. under Section 610.021 Subsection (3) (hiring, firing, disciplining and promotion) and Subsection (12) (contracts). The motion carried on a recorded 6-0 vote; the minutes list Aldermen Kelley, Stottlemyre, Walker, Ceplina, Gettys and Romines as voting yes and do not record any no votes, abstentions, or absences for that motion.
During the closed session, Alderman Don Romines moved, and Alderman Tim Ceplina seconded, to allow a 30-day extension with Brightspeed for pole attachments and to request that Brightspeed provide an audit of which poles are used and the attachment count. That motion also carried on a recorded 6-0 vote with the same six council members listed as yes.
The council then voted to adjourn from closed session at 4:30 p.m.; that motion, made by Alderman Romines and seconded by Alderman Ceplina, carried 6-0. A subsequent motion by Alderman Ceplina, seconded by Alderwoman Walker, adjourned the meeting at 4:33 p.m. The minutes were taken and attested by City Clerk Barbara Rodgers.
