At the Jan. 8 meeting, recreation staff briefed the Houston Parks and Recreation Park Board on upcoming youth sports and staff travel plans.
Robbie Mortensen reported that the Hit Trax Tournament has been entered in the Rec Desk system but staff intends to push the event back until late February because of scheduling conflicts. He also said the final basketball game of the season is scheduled for Feb. 8 and that spring soccer sign-ups are planned to open in February. Mortensen noted continued planning for T‑ball and camp programming.
The board recorded that Mortensen and Zack Richards will attend the Missouri Recreation and Parks Association conference in Branson in February for professional development. No travel costs or funding sources were specified in the minutes.
The meeting also included routine administrative business: Jeff Richardson moved to approve the December minutes; Sheena Postlewait seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:36 p.m.
