Bonduel RDA approves downtown visitor survey, prioritizes Village Hall green space

Chairman Russ Gehm called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. on March 11. Kristen Fish-Peterson of Redevelopment Resources presented the proposed visitor survey to the authority, which members described as appropriately brief and offered a few wording and distribution suggestions. Redevelopment Resources will finalize the instrument and create supporting social-media materials and a newspaper link for the Village to publish.
Sean Falk moved to approve the survey with the incorporated changes; Brad Luepke seconded the motion, which the authority carried unanimously. The approval authorizes staff to publish and promote the survey as part of outreach to downtown businesses and visitors.
On unfinished business, Jesse Rankin reported that the Village Board approved transferring $3,085.13 in ARPA interest funds to the RDA for future downtown revitalization projects. RDA members discussed a range of concepts presented by Caitlin Richter, including new seating, floral displays, lighting fixtures and fencing. The members reached consensus to prioritize the green space next to Village Hall for preliminary work, with ideas such as a lighted covered structure and planters under consideration.
Rankin also updated the authority that the Connect Communities Application has been submitted. Fish-Peterson and Village staff will meet with business owners in the coming weeks to gather survey responses and discuss ownership or business-model changes; the RDA agreed by consensus to table broader district- and property-level planning until the next meeting so that outreach results can inform a future plan.
Procedural motions to approve the meeting agenda and the minutes of the Jan. 14, 2025 meeting were both carried unanimously earlier in the session. The RDA set its next meeting for April 8, 2025, and adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
