Village of Black Earth approves event liquor license, operator renewal and routine invoices

The Village of Black Earth Board on April 8 approved a Temporary Class B/Class B Retailer’s license for the Black Earth Home Talent Baseball event, renewed an operator’s license, and approved routine invoices and minutes.
President Terry Moyer called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the board moved quickly through several routine actions. A motion to approve the March 3, 2026 meeting minutes was made by Jen Schuetz and seconded by Nathan Cavanagh; the board voted unanimously to adopt the minutes.
On a motion by Nathan Cavanagh, seconded by Jen Schuetz, the board approved a Temporary Class B/Class B Retailer’s license for the Black Earth Home Talent Baseball event; minutes record the motion carried with all ayes. The board then considered an operator’s license renewal for Daren Helmenstine; Trustee Jen Schuetz moved to approve the renewal, seconded by Nathan Cavanagh. The motion passed with a recorded tally of 5 yes, 0 no and 1 abstention (Dylan Helmenstine).
The board also approved invoices as presented on a motion by Dylan Helmenstine, seconded by Joe Winandy, with no questions raised and unanimous approval.
The meeting adjourned at 6:41 p.m.; the board set its next meeting for May 5, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
