The Greater Burrows Partnership for Health advisory board set a tentative date of Saturday, Oct. 17 for its regional drive-through flu clinic and reviewed clinic logistics and vendor support during its July 9 meeting.
Mikaela, shared service coordinator and epidemiologist, reported that last year's drive-through clinic on Oct. 4 at Algonquin Regional High School administered 213 vaccines and suggested moving the clinic slightly later in October this year. The board discussed calendar conflicts (Columbus Day weekend, town meetings) and landed on Oct. 17, subject to school booking confirmation.
Staff said Wegmans has coordinated with Penny to provide high-dose and standard-dose flu vaccines for Northborough and Westborough clinics, and may provide COVID vaccines if the product is available. Mikaela reported Northborough dates of Sept. 8 or 9 (senior center, 10 a.m. to noon) and Westborough on Sept. 22 (10 a.m. to noon), pending firm confirmation.
Board members discussed appointment-based scheduling with walk-in availability, on-site check-in logistics, and the need to notify fire departments and parking-lot contacts where prior parking problems occurred. Several members volunteered to contact school and parking-lot booking contacts and to CC staff for coordination.
Next steps: staff will confirm school and site bookings for Oct. 17, finalize Wegmans's vaccine mix (flu +/- COVID), and publicize appointment and walk-in details once confirmed.
