Jefferson County HHS Committee sponsors multiple elder-care and public-health agreements

The Jefferson County Health & Human Services Committee on Feb. 3 unanimously agreed to sponsor a slate of resolutions addressing elder services and public-health priorities, including adoption of the committee's 2026 strategic priorities and a series of service agreements for older adults.
The resolutions the committee agreed to sponsor with motions and seconds recorded in the minutes cover: adopting the 2026 strategic priorities; authorizing music therapy for older adults receiving respite services; authorizing an agreement with G.R.O. Energy Solutions LLC for home modification services; authorizing legal services for the elderly; funding Personal Emergency Response Systems with the Henry Keep Home; agreements for personal care and transportation services to the elderly; an amended agreement to provide additional funding for Community Medicine and Paramedicine programs with the Home Care Association of New York State and Iroquois Healthcare Association; authorizing participation in the New York State Department of Health Local Health Department Performance Incentive Initiative and amending the 2026 budget in relation thereto; expressing support for the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement statewide program; and appointing a member to the Jefferson County Public Health Service Professional Advisory Committee.
Motions were made and seconded as recorded in the minutes and the Committee "agreed to sponsor the resolution as presented" for each item where no additional discussion is recorded. The minutes do not include individual vote tallies for these motions, only the agreement to sponsor. The committee adjourned at 5:50 p.m.; the minutes were submitted by Ryan Piche, Clerk of the Board.
