Dewey Beach commissioners approved a request from the Dewey Business Partnership on Aug. 15 to host the annual property-owners end-of-season party on Sept. 13 and granted an exemption to allow alcohol service at the event.
Mr. Montgomery, speaking for the Dewey Business Partnership, described the event as a long-running, not-for-profit gathering intended for property owners and noted production costs exceed $25,000. Commissioner Jasinski moved approval with an alcohol-exemption; the council voted by voice to approve the request.
The partnership’s event and the exemption are subject to the town’s usual public-safety and permitting conditions. The council did not propose additional conditions beyond the exemption vote recorded at the meeting.
