Richmond council clears fireworks permit, appoints Park Board member and holds closed session on personnel

City Administrator Tonya Willim presented the special-event permit and the requested waiver of City Code Section 205.160 to allow fireworks on June 26. Councilor Deanna Guy moved approval of the permit; Councilor June Paige seconded. Roll-call recorded six ayes (Guy, Paige, Hardwick, Bond, Brash and Williams) and no nays. The motion to approve the special-event permit carried 6-0.
During the mayor’s report, Mayor Mike Wright said, "I would like to appoint Stephanie Bradley to the Park Board." The council recorded the appointment by roll call (AYES: Paige, Bond, Guy, Hardwick, Brash, and Williams). The minutes note two prior resignations from the Park Board as the reason for the appointment.
Later in the meeting Councilor Deanna Guy moved, and Councilor Barb Hardwick seconded, to adjourn the open session and enter a closed session at 6:42 p.m. The closed session was held pursuant to Section 610.021(3) and (13) of the Revised Statutes of Missouri to discuss personnel matters and personnel records. The council reconvened and adjourned the meeting at 7:08 p.m.
