The Chair reported that Community Crossings-related bids have been advertised and that a bid opening is scheduled for the December meeting with bids due on December 18 at 5:00 p.m. The Chair and council members noted concerns about awarding work late in the winter and reminded the body that the town retains the right to reject bids.
On personnel, the Chair said a candidate has expressed interest in a planning-administrator role and asked council members whether they wanted an interview; members agreed to discuss the candidate in executive session and continue to solicit other applications.
Separately, staff reported preliminary discussions with Eric Parsley and Jessica Condrick about possible Economic Development Administration (EDA) funding for a truck-wash project. Engineers are still compiling the required technical output for funding scenarios, and staff said they need finalized numbers before submitting grant requests.
On water, the Chair reported that the general manager had recommended against granting a proposed water MOU and that it is unlikely the town will proceed with selling water at this time. No formal decisions were made during the meeting; staff were asked to return with additional details where appropriate.
