Daniels recommended the turnkey John Meegle Ford option because it provides a one‑stop procurement and faster turnaround (he said the vendor could have vehicles ready in about 2–3 weeks).
Council members asked where the purchase funds would come from; Daniels said vehicle purchases would be covered by funds allocated for school cameras. Daniels also detailed the department’s plan for rotating existing vehicles (one admin car, one patrol car reassigned) and retaining the current K‑9 vehicle as a backup.
No formal procurement vote was recorded at the meeting; the item remained under council consideration for formal approval in a subsequent action.
