Commissioner Chris Granda announces resignation; Aug. 20 meeting canceled

During closing business on Aug. 6, Commissioner Chris Granda told the commission he is resigning from the planning commission because he no longer has sufficient time to serve effectively after six years of service.
"I am finding myself with not enough time to cover all the bases...I need to take a bit of a break and reallocate my efforts," Granda said. Chair Virginia and other members thanked him for his contributions and discussed the need to recruit replacements.
The commission also decided to cancel the scheduled Aug. 20 meeting and continue PUD and town-plan drafting work ahead of the next meeting (Sept. 3 was discussed as a target date for bringing outside stakeholders). Commissioners emphasized attendance will be crucial going forward and asked staff to publicize openings for new members.
What's next: no replacement was selected at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to publicize vacancies and continue work on the PUD rewrite and town-plan drafting in advance of the next full meeting.
