Finance Director Natalie Fords told the budget committee the district’s Alliance grant portfolio totaled $11,531,952, of which $10,900,872.99 had been expended and remaining funds were encumbered.
“This is the first year that the state has required that districts provide encumbrances two weeks before the end of the fiscal year,” Fords said, noting the district submitted the required report on June 12 and that the state released the final $2,000,000 on June 15.
Separately, Doctor Adley said additional adult education grant funds permitted the district to reinstate an administrative assistant for technology, an item the board had approved previously.
Fords told the committee she will provide more detailed line-item reporting for some grants in future monthly meetings and that there were no transfers to report at this time.
