Doctor Adley told the Middletown School District budget committee on June 22 that a memorandum of understanding between the school board and the city was signed and will take effect July 1.
“It was signed today. I signed that,” Doctor Adley said, noting he had sent the document to the mayor for reciprocal signature.
Adley said $255,000 in the MOU was designated for specific capital projects including a gym floor and an acoustic shell, and that another $250,000 was designated for general operating funds. He said staff is preparing information about the capital projects and timelines.
The committee did not vote on MOU spending during the meeting; Adley framed the announcement as an update on an agreement that has been finalized between the district and the city.
