District reviews Triton dual-degree pilot, ACCUPLACER testing and staffing needs

Staff said ACCUPLACER testing has been administered to students with a specified testing window and retest limits governed by Triton—s rules; staff reported that 53 students were tested recently with additional appointments accommodated.
Trustees discussed logistics (two cohorts for on-campus offerings given the 44 students reported), the scheduling demands and the long-term staffing implications. Agency official (Speaker 4) said expanding the program beyond the pilot would require additional teacher certification and that broad district expansion would take time to align hiring and credentialing.
Board members asked that staff return with scheduling details, certification pathways for teachers who would teach college-level coursework, and a plan for how the pilot would be sustained and possibly scaled.
